PIZZA HUT CAMPAIGN

This is a short illustration project to create a new marketing campaign for Pizza Hut. Based on research of past campaigns, as well as personal reference, I determined that a movie themed approach would fit perfectly. However, rather than making it in your face, I wanted viewers to have to examine the boxes closely to determine which film they’re from. As a result, each of the boxes is covered in illustrations of objects from the respective films.

PROCESS

I landed on the idea of an 80’s aesthetic very quickly. With Pizza Hut returning to their retro logo, they would complement each other well. Additionally, 80’s nostalgia is very popular right now. Originally my approach was to draw a character from each chosen film and put them on the cover, but this idea was dropped after completing only one. The idea of a pattern eventually developed, and that’s the direction I used. Choosing 3 films was easy, and they are Batman (1989), Back to the Future, and Ghostbusters.
